Profit margin and markup calculator
Turn cost and selling price into profit, margin and markup, or find the price you need for a target margin.
How it's worked out
- Margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is profit as a share of the cost. A 50% markup is only a 33.3% margin.
- For marketplace sales, use your payout after fees as the selling price, or use the fee calculators first.
Questions
What's the difference between margin and markup?
Margin = profit ÷ price. Markup = profit ÷ cost. The same £5 profit on a £10 cost is a 50% markup but a 33.3% margin at £15.
